Hawt
Challenge
To develop the brand identity (logo, packaging, brand assets) for this new hot sauce to hit the shelves.
Background
A brand new "indie" hot sauce made in Devon, having several selling points, including the 'fruity and fermented' tagline and the fact it's 100% organic.
Solution
I developed a fun and edgy logotype and a scorpion mascot for the brand, as well as other elements (wavy green shape border, chilli pepper illustration...) to give the brand a strong sense of visual identity. Why a scorpion? They are shaped like chilli peppers as well as sharing the fact they use a burning sensation as a deterrent to animals that approach them. I noticed that the image of a scorpion is not commonly used for marketing hot sauce, so would give Hawt its own place in the market.
